new favorite in our home. new glaze!
I romanticize what I like to call 'real potters,' those that dig their clay and raw materials from the earth. Potters that throw pots with great skill and efficiency in dimply lit workshops with dirt floors and fire their kilns with wood.
I'm starting to take small steps in that direction. To find ways to pair my sensibilities with the practice of the 'real potters'
This cup is a step in that direction. The glaze is made with clay dug near my home and wood ash from our stove. The finish is a delicious chocolate/molasses semi matte with incredible depth.
