odds and ends
Packaging:
We do what we can to keep our packaging waste to a minimum. Nearly all orders are shipped using only recycled paper materials. We try to use 0% plastic. (even the tape we use can be thrown into the recycling. We do sometimes use biodegradable bubble wrap (it’s the blue stuff) for some Dinnerware sets. We just haven’t found a better solution. We also, from time to time, reuse bubble wrap that is given to us or that has come with packages we have received. We apologize in advance, as we never appreciate receiving this stuff but have decided that reusing it feels better that throwing it in the trash. We hope you’ll repurpose or recycle the packing supplies!
POts are Dishwasher and microwave safe.
We hand wash all our pottery but a dishwasher won’t harm them. You can also put them in the microwave but they may get a little warmer that other dishes.
non-toxic/food safe
Yes! All of our pottery is food safe. We don’t use any toxic materials, lead, or heavy metals in our workshop. Like our customers, we don’t want any of that stuff in our home.
Damaged:
We’ve learned some lessons over the past few years and have gotten pretty good at packaging pottery. We always do our best but can’t control what happens to packages when we hand them over to the shipping company. Sometimes things break.
If that happens. We will make it right. We just ask that you contact us ASAP (or within 7 business days) if a pot is broken during shipment, we insure all our packages and just need clear images of the box, packing material, and the pottery itself. We will refund or replace the item and deal with the hassle of the claim process on our end. Email us: ryan@bakerpotter.com
Returns:
Please contact us (ryan@bakerpotter.com) if you’re unhappy with your order. Or reach out before purchasing if you have any reservations or questions about your potential purchase.
Customers are responsible for covering shipping costs both ways on returns. We will process the refund when your order is received minus shipping costs. We are such a small business that we are unable to absorb the cost of shipping. We’re just two people making pots in the woods. Not Amazon. Hope you can understand.
Variation..
while we aim for consistency, variation is expected part of what makes hand made pottery so special. Size and shape will vary from piece to piece, batch to batch. Coloring will also vary, the oat can be creamy and mild or yellowish with brown speckles, usually it lands where in between. The photos on the website attempt to capture the variation.
If this concerns you, or you’re adding to an existing collection.. reach out and we can take measurements of the pots we have available.

RIP. You were beautiful (but a royal headache). Farewell, until we find the time to test a new dark clay (don’t hold your breath).
